What a great weekend

We just finished what has been one of best weekends we've had in a long time. Saturday we were finally able to get some gardening done. We got our berry bushes in that have sitting inside our house for over a month. We hope they do well. We also prepped the garden box and started some vegetable seeds inside in peat pots. We have had sun the last few days also, giving these little plants lots of hope! It was so nice to be working outside in the yard. Apparently I guilted mother nature into some nice weather, it couldn't have been better.

It was also general conference weekend. This usually consists of Roger and I trying to watch sessions while the girls yell at us to do something with them. This time however, they were very into the conference bingo. They were doing a good job of listening for the words on their cards. Every time someone would mention President Gordon B. Hinckley, Avery would say, "that's the teacher who died." It was very, very sweet and I don't think President Hinckley would mind being called the teacher. During the second Sunday session we were all candied out so we painted fingernails and toenails instead of bingo. As it turns out this was an excellent conference activity. The girls were fairly quiet so I listened and painted at the same time! It's been rare in the last five years to feel as uplifted and encouraged as I have after this session of conference. What a great weekend!

Both girls chose pink fingernails, Avery has green toenails (painted, not sick) and Ashby purple toenails.

fun I can't wait for the time when I can watch conference in peace. The good part is with our cable we can watch whenever we want so that is a plus when you have little ones. Glad you were able to garden. We had snow this morning AGAIN!

Sounds great! I feel lucky if I get to listen to one session of conference in peace.

Wow! Great strategy! I'll have to keep those in mind. It looks like the girls really loved it too. We were going to go to my parents' house and watch on their big screen, but I got sick.

I am getting excited about the garden too. I think it is all part of wanting to "create" thing that make me love gardening. It helps that my kids actually enjoy veggies if they can pick them!
