I'm really terrible at clever titles

I've had a few things on my mind to blog about, but nothing ever warranted a post all to itself. I saved it all up for one fantastic (semi-boring) post. Aren't you excited?

We celebrated Roger's 32nd birthday on Monday. Happy Birthday old man.

Ashby starts soccer this week again and we are all very excited, even Avery. Ain't she so pretty?

On Sunday during church, Avery told Roger that her foot was bored. It was awesome. Upon further questioning, we figured out she probably meant it was asleep. We told her you say asleep instead of bored and she thought that was the most ridiculous thing she had ever heard. She also was cold the other night and a good way to fix it is footy pajamas and slippers right?

I was getting Ashby ready for school yesterday and could hear the baby kicking the coffee table. He was fussing a bit so I came in the living room to help him and couldn't find him. This is where he was, all the way under the coffee table. He does have other clothes, I promise.

When the new year came, I found myself really cheap and wouldn't spend the $5 for a new desk calendar, so I improvised. I bought this magnet board at Ikea for $2 a while ago. I already had the circle magnets and the tape. I only had to buy a package of strip magnets for $.70. I color coded magnets for the girls' activities and I can write on the board with a dry erase marker as well. I thought it turned out alright. It will do the job anyway. Don't I take such great pictures?

My most excellent recommendations

Ok first, seriously Cougars what's wrong with you? Breaking my heart again, yowza... Have any of you been watching this? I found it on CNN the other day. It's a documentary of two freshman Congressman in the House of Representatives. It's so interesting to watch how life moves and shakes in the House. The two reps it follows couldn't be more opposite, I like watching how they both work. And lastly I'm always looking for a good book to read. My friend kim posted a bunch of books she's read on her blog and one of them was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. If you haven't read it, run don't walk to your nearest library/bookstore and pick it up. I loved it. Unfortunately it's the first in a trilogy, the next one comes out this fall. I hate waiting, but boy did I love that book. Our society is just a small step from The Hunger Games, horrifying.

Oh my...

am I lazy. I've hardly taken any pictures and clearly I haven't done any blogging lately. The only explanation is that I'm really, really lazy. At least my dishes are done today... oh wait I didn't even do those, Roger and the girls did. Darn. I'm posting what I've got because my mom is dying for pictures.
Luke has been getting good at rolling around. He doesn't really do it on purpose, but is pleased to find himself in a different place than where I set him. I was in the kitchen the other day and could hear something going on in the living room. I looked around the couch and saw this

and this. He was so happy with himself and I was loving his little arm all the way in the crayon bucket.

We also took advantage of our first Saturday with Roger back and went to the Museum of Natural History. It was the perfect quick Saturday trip.

And here's a video, just for good measure.
